The Basics of Dungeons and Dragons

To practice Bootstrap 5 in my web design and publishing class, I created an informative website to help people learn the basics of Dungeons and Dragons. The final product is a five-page website that walks the user through the steps and knowledge needed to begin playing D&D.

H’s Bakes

To gain familiarity with WordPress in my web design class, I created a fake business called “H’s Bakes” and designed a website for the company in WordPress.

Hidden Moments

For this zine, I looked at important milestone moments in my life with my roommates, moments like moving into the dorm together, our first apartment, and all of us getting COVID. These are the things that the public sees, that Instagram sees. But the small, hidden moments in between like movie night, family dinners, and going for walks are moments that impact us too, and they make us feel whole.

Roll to Play: The Game Shuffler App

For my Digital Media Innovation Capstone course, we were tasked to take a problem and create a solution from the beginning research all the way through to a prototype and mock website. The problem I decided to research was indecision when it comes to playing board games. Over the course of the semester, I created Roll to Play: the Game Shuffler app.

Board Game Menu

I absolutely love games. You’ll see games all over my work, it’s what I love. For this zine, I wanted to share my expertise in board games by creating a restaurant menu-style list of board game recommendations. Each section has a theme and was carefully curated to showcase a wide range of games to play.

Oscars

For my final coding and data project, I decided to dive deep into what movies win the Best Picture award at the Oscars. I used Python3 requests to get data from the OMDb API about each Best Picture movie. I analyzed the genres, the ratings, the demographics of the director and the lead cast, as well as the runtime of the film, and the overall reception of the movie. I wrote it from the perspective of helping the viewer “build a best picture” to help highlight that many of these movies share similar aspects, namely, similar cast demographics. At the end, you can search through the movies on the table.
